At Beamish Museum during the run up to Christmas people can visit and see the wonderfully decorated Christmas Tram. You can take a ride on the Tram and see the views of the town which has a large Christmas tree which is beautifully decorated.

Penshaw Monument in Durham is over 70 feet tall where you can visit and see the lovely countryside of Durham .
Washington Old Hall in Tyne and Wear is a wonderful manor house where you can see the range of wildlife which is located in the county of Tyne and Wear. You can have a tour of the manor house and learn the history.
Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland is a lovely place to walk around the gardens and learn of the history of the House.
Gibside in Tyne and Wear holds a market regularly where you can pick up some locally produced food and other products. The gardens are approximately 18th century where you can enjoy walks through the countryside seeing the array of wildlife.
Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens in Northumberland has great winter gardens where you can walk through seeing the beautiful flowers and plants which have been planted. There is a great tea room which you can treat yourself to freshly made cakes and tea.

There are good road links in Northumbria including A1(M), M6, A66, A 68 and A69 for example.
