Independent Building Surveyors

Independent Surveyors at carry out structural building surveys which identify any property problems in our easy to read property reports which offer Executive Summaries using our Good, Bad and Ugly format.

Our Good, Bad & Ugly structural surveys!

We would also like to introduce to you what we call our Good, Bad and Ugly structural survey which is a building survey, sometimes known as a structural survey, and is something that we have developed over many years, in fact several decades. We have listened to feedback from our clients (in fact we have not just listened to feedback we have had marketing company carry out research for us) and amended and altered our building surveys to make them easy to read, cover the points that you wish them to cover and describe property issues clearly and any associated costs as well as of course how to solve the property problems.

Valley gutters

The key factor we believe is that our surveys are easy to understand as they are written in plain English. In addition we use sketches and photographs having survey sketches drawn exclusively for us.

In our building surveys what do the circles and ovals mean?

In our building surveys and structural surveys we use circles and ovals in a system to emphasize property problem areas so that you are not left unsure what the property problem is. In addition to this if the survey photographs do not we believe explain the property problem sufficiently together with our survey report we also include one of our own survey sketches to explain the property issue more fully.

Meet your face to face Surveyor

We thoroughly recommend you meet your Surveyor at the property to talk through any property issues. You will be able to talk face to face with your Surveyor and see any property problems first hand.

Why have an independent building survey?

Buyer beware is the meaning of Caveat emptor. This is why you need to have a building survey to find out if there are any property problems within the property; the estate agent certainly will not advise you of any.

Be sure to remember the building Surveyor that you employ will be the only person working for you with your interests being their main concern.

What is a Building Survey?

Building Survey defined:

Most people when calling us to carry out a building survey will ask for a full structural survey although in more recent years the term Building Survey is commonly requested.

A Building Survey can be carried out on any property old or new whether extended or amended.

Dampness can get into property due to problems with parapet wall

A Surveyor carries out a Building Survey using his expertise in all property matters producing a Survey which prioritises the property issues identifies the problems and effects then details the action required to resolve the problems.

Add coping stones to stop dampness getting in
