We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Bungay. Bungay is a town which is situated in Suffolk.
As Surveyors we are often in the historic market town of Bungay to carry out Building Surveys, both residential, and commercial, in the form of Schedules of Condition and Property Reports.
The town centre has its own castle originally built in the 12th century by the Bighod family. All that remains today are the twin towers of the gatehouse and sections of the walls. It is now owned by the Bungay Castle Trust and is a grade I listed building. The historic buildings in the town are one of our Surveyors favourite things about Bungay.
Other historic landmarks in the town include the beautiful domed buttercross which is now the location of the Thursday market and also the well that links it to the towns Roman past. Another building that interested our surveyors is the elegant Fisher Theatre built in 1826. It is a beautiful Georgian property that has been recently restored to its former glory and is now a theatre, cinema, art venue and conference centre.
The Bungay town sign incorporates an image of a fierce black dog (Black Shuck) that is linked by legend to Bungays history. While in Bungay carrying out Structural Surveys our Surveyors were told that the legend states that in 1577 an evil black dog killed two people and injured a third during a service at St Mary's Church. The Black Dog was reputed to have been the Devil in disguise.
Today Bungays football club are called The Black Dogs. The name has also been adopted by the running club and an antique shop in the town. The history of the town and the accompanying tales and legends are always fascinating to our Surveyors.
The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum is situated in the town with a fine collection of aircraft and associated memorabilia.
Our Surveyors always enjoy their time spent in the beautiful town of Bungay and have carried out Building Surveys including home buyer reports in Earsham Street, Trinity Street and Staithe Road . We have also provided neighbouring villages such as Poringland and Ditchingham with a variety of surveys including commercial surveys in the form of Schedules of Condition.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Bungay or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
