We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Didcot. Didcot is a town which is situated in Oxfordshire
South of Oxford and north of Reading close to the A34 on the A4130 is the town of Didcot in south Oxfordshire set in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. On the outskirts of the town to the east on the Wallingford Rd is Hadden Hill Golf Club which was built in 1990 to modern standards with underground drainage 30 miles in length preventing the course being closed during periods of heavy rain. To the south of Didcot is the village of Blewbury with its beautiful Saxon and Norman Saint Michael's Church which was described by the Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman as one of the most attractive medieval buildings in Oxfordshire, textured by time and easy for prayer, stately and friendly. Didcot itself is known for its important railway linking the capital to the West Country with its good rail links it also makes it a popular commuter town with its easy access to London, Oxford, Bristol etc. The landscape is blotted by the large chimney and six cooling towers of the National Power Station which is a large employer in the area and has guided tours available by appointment where you can see this 2,000 megawatt coal-fired station in action. To the north east of Didcot is the small Oxfordshire village of Dorchester with its delightful Norman Dorchester Abbey which has undergone much restoration over the years and was saved by a wealthy local Sir Richard Bewfforeste who paid Henry VIII the cost of the lead on the chancel roof to save the building for the parish.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Didcot or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
