We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Letcombe Regis. Letcombe Regis is a town which is situated in Oxfordshire
In the centre of the A34, A420, M4 triangle is the small village of Letcombe Regis , south of Oxford and north of Newbury in south Oxfordshire on a branch of the River Ock and close to the Wiltshire and Berkshire canal.
Letcombe Regis is set in the beautiful countryside with narrow winding lanes and has many horses in the numerous fields as it is a leading horse racing area. The village is very picturesque with several older style buildings including the mostly Victorian Jacobean Antswick Manor, with a building on this site going back to the Domesday Book (1086) the present house, which was built by a Irish racehorse owner Richard ‘Boss' Croker, includes an original section dating back to 1780 when it was said to be the hunting lodge for King John giving rise to the ‘Regis' / Royal, several thatched cottages, the 19 th century Greyhound Inn (Grade II Listed) with black glazed header bricks and the delightful 15 th century St Andrews church with its 13 th century tower and some 14 th century stained glass windows at the heart of the village.
The churchyard is interesting as there is an obelisk in memorial to George King Hipango who was a young Maori chief, only nineteen, who stayed at the vicarage while he was training to become a Christian missionary and died of tuberculosis. With the need for more and more housing the village has succumbed to the developers and does have 1970s flats and red brick houses and is another commuter area with its good road links.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Letcombe Regis or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
