Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. My estate
agent says......
We would note you have said "my estate
agent". Many estate
agents use the sales technique they use when helping you buy a house - they are not, they are acting on behalf of the
seller (known as the vendor). Remember estate
agents are very good at selling, they do it for a living.
Estate agents are usually on a very
low basic salary (about 20% to 50% of total on target earnings
- meaning the rest of their earnings are coming out of your pocket
in the form of commission). From our experience, they have very
little interest in the seller when the property has been sold so
they will have even less interest in you,
unless of course you have a house to sell!
Our building surveys are impartial to the
estate agent. We are employed by you to carry out the building
survey, so we will have your best interests in mind when evaluating
the property.
