By road

As with most areas of London there is a good road system, and the A232 and A205 provide access into the Bromley City of London Borough, which also goes past Greenwich and Wandsworth. This provides access from the West part of London and the M25 runs adjacent to the borough similar to Bexley.

By rail and tube

It has the following rail links and tube links; Network Rail (it is only 9 miles east from Charing Cross Station). Tube links are yet to be developed at time of writing.

This area is also covered by the excellent Google Street View, where you can literally walk along the road.

Interesting facts we know about the Bromley or Bromley area

Interesting fact about London Borough of Bromley number one

Bromley, it can be argued, is one of the more larger boroughs!! However interestingly it promotes itself as a green borough! (This is becoming ever more important in deciding where to live in London).

Interesting fact about London Borough of Bromley number two

Before 1965 it was part of the county of Kent , before Greater London was formed in 1965. (It is rumoured that our surveyors have also had numerous surveys in Kent nearby the Channel Tunnel).

Interesting fact about the London Borough of Bromley number three

It is home to the Crystal Palace which boasts London 's largest maze, (our Surveyor once got lost here).

Interesting fact about London Borough of Bromley number four

We have heard that Bromley of London is one of the least noisiest London Borough's, we don't know who started that rumour. It contains a range of housing estates that were built during the post war period.

Bromley History

It has been rumoured that the Romans used to live here! Archaeologists have found roman remains in Chalk Mines that date back to Roman Times, hence many examples of Roman methods can be found in housing.

Famous people that were born, have lived, or are living in Bromley

There are many famous residents and ex-residents of the Bromley area, mainly because of its close locality to Central London. Charles Darwin famous naturalist lived in Downs House during 1870 and H.G wells was born here in 1866.

Many residents were involved somewhere along the line of the World War with Germany.

Famous buildings we have not surveyed!

There are many Sky scrapers and our Surveyors although having been described similar to Spiderman on Surveys have not been able to Survey these buildings!!

There are the Crystal Palace Bowl, Biggin Hill Airport, Chislehurst Caves.

Unfortunately we haven't been able to come up with any other really famous buildings in the Bromley of London Borough area, so anyone who knows any please phone or e-mail us, we are sure we can sort out some sort of prize.

We would add that as with many areas of London it has a mass of Victorian and Georgian houses, which may up the majority of the housing stock in the area, with some newer developments for the after war building took place, replacing bomb damaged houses and some housing with 1960 post-war built houses. We are more than happy to carry out building surveys, structural surveys, engineers reports on these properties to give you a clear idea of any problems that you may be buying when you buy your new house.

Things to do in Bromley of London Borough

There are fairs, concerts, fireworks and even a maze that is popular with our surveyor that knows the area. Also, he advises that he knows about many shops and nice accommodation and hotels in the area that can be used if visiting for shopping, (Bluewater shopping centre is nearby), and of course the arts and entertainment in the area is good, for example the last night of The Proms has been hosted here!
